Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how RuralMatch Australia ("we", "us") collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information. We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. What we collect

From workers: name, email, phone, nationality, visa type, languages, work experience, location, accommodation needs, transport, resume, profile photo.

From employers: name, business name, ABN, website, contact details, business description, logo, payment details (handled by Stripe — we do not store card numbers).

Automatically: IP address, device type, pages visited, referrer, cookies (see Cookie Policy).

2. Why we collect it

To run the platform, match workers with employers, process payments, send transactional emails, prevent fraud, improve our service and comply with the law.

3. Who we share with

When you apply for a job, your profile and application are shared with that employer. When you post a job, your business profile is publicly visible. We use trusted service providers: Supabase (database, hosting in Sydney AWS), Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), Vercel (web hosting). We do not sell your data.

4. Where we store it

Data is hosted on infrastructure within Australia where possible (Supabase Sydney region). Some processing happens overseas via our service providers (Stripe US, Resend US, Vercel global edge network) under standard data-protection contracts.

5. Your rights

You can: access your data, correct it, delete your account, withdraw consent, complain to the OAIC (oaic.gov.au) if you believe we've mishandled your data.

6. How long we keep it

Active accounts: as long as your account exists. Inactive accounts: deleted after 24 months unless legally required to retain. Payment records: 7 years (tax law).

7. Security

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is restricted, logged and audited. We use industry-standard practices, but no system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password.
